History
Our District
The agency that became Exeter District Ambulance began as "Exeter Memorial Hospital" on May23, 1977 after 63% of the voters living in the 592 telephone prefix approved a 10-cent tax on each $100 of assessed property value. The district encompasses all of Exeter and Lindcove and extends west to Road 176, east to Road 236, north to Avenue 320 and south to Avenue 256.. A short while later, it was renamed "Exeter Hospital District Ambulance", under which we operated a single ambulance unit. On December 18, 1995 we officially became "Exeter District Ambulance".
Today Exeter District Ambulance is the exclusive provider for Tulare County Ambulance Zone 5, which encompassesses the District boundaries as well as the community of Farmersville and surrounding areas. The District also shares responcibility with another Tulare County ambulance provider for Ambulance Zone 3, 4, and 13, seving the communities of Woodlake, Three RIvers, Badger, and surrounding forest and national park land.
The District operates 2 advanced life support ambulances staffed wth one state certified emergency medical technician - basic and one emergency medical technician - paramedic 7 days a week, 24 hours a day out of our exeter station 11, and one dvanced life support ambulance staffed wth one state certified emergency medical technician - basic and one emergency medical technician - paramedic 3 days a week out of our Woodlake station.
