Exeter District Ambulance, referred to as the “District”, is an independent Special District formed in accordance with the California Health and Safety Code SecAon 32002.3 to provide healthcare services to the residents of the District. The District’s boundaries encompass the City of Exeter as well as the communities of Lemon Cove, Lindcove and unincorporated county areas in between. By contract with the County of Tulare the District also proudly serves as the primary ambulance provider for the Cities of Farmersville, Woodlake and Ivanhoe. Further the District participates in the Tulare County Emergency Medical System response plan and as such responds to any area of the county when the District has the closest available ambulance.
Exeter District Ambulance is governed by an elected board consisting of five members. Board members serve a two-year term. Board meetings of the District are conducted under requirements of the Brown Act and are open to the public. Board meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of alternate months with meetings beginning at 9:00 A.M. The Board is committed to full transparency regarding operational and fiscal matters of the District. Members of the public are encouraged to attend meetings of the Board. At each meeting there is time on the agenda for public comment. All actions of the Board are taken in Open Session and publicized on the agenda in accordance with requirements of the Brown Act. A single District Manager is hired by the Board of Directors to administer the operations and business of the District.
The District provides full service Advanced Life Support Ambulances staffed by one Paramedic and one Emergency Medical Technician as well as Basic Life Support Ambulances staffed by two Emergency Medical Technicians working from three different shifts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The District Manager has a field supervisor vehicle used to assist the ambulance crews on an as needed basis. There are 34 dedicated EMT’s and Paramedics employed by the District.
